New Series! Quick and Easy Holiday Gift Ideas

by Kim on November 23, 2009

We thought it might be fun to showcase some quick and easy gift ideas you can give to friends, neighbors, co-workers, and oh yes…even your family! Keep checking back as we’ll be continually adding videos to our blog in the next few weeks. They can also be found on the YCMT, SWAK, and YCQT channel on You-Tube!

We’ve also created a free download for some fun gift tags. Each of them coordinate with ideas found on the videos, as well as designs and patterns found at www.SWAKembroidery.com and www.YouCanMakeThis.com.

Take a look at what Kris made with an appliqued tea towel, some Hershey kisses, and a wire whisk! The Patched Christmas Tree design is found here. The XOXO design is found here.

**TIP for watching video: If the video stops every few seconds, that is ok. Let it cycle through once (you can even turn the volume down so you don’t hear it again and again!) and then go back and hit the PLAY button again. Once it has cycled through the first time, you’ll be able to watch it again without interruption.

Remember to download your free gift tags here!

Enjoyed watching the video! It’s such a cute idea and frugal for sure. I like to find an easy and inexpensive gift idea to make for serveral folks on my list and I can’t wait to get busy.

Two designs one towel, have thought of that but wondered if you had any drying room left on your tea towel? Another “really good idea”. Thank you.

7 Abbie 12.03.09 at 5:22 am

Very cute and easy. I love the two different holiday designs in one. Nice, neat, and frugal!

8 Heather 12.03.09 at 5:26 am

What a smart idea! Kris put a different design on each side – one Christmas, one Valentine’s. Love it!

9 Lori 12.03.09 at 6:19 am

I am wondering where I can find the tree design? Is that on Swak embroidery?
Thank you

I’ve never thought about using 2 designs on a towel. It makes sense for the holiday ones.

13 Robyn 12.03.09 at 8:20 am

Just downloaded the gift tags. We moved into a new neighborhood this summer and am anxious to exchange neighbor gifts with all my new fabulous neighbors.

14 Tiffani 12.03.09 at 8:39 am

I thought she was very clever to put a valentine design on one side of the towel and the Christmas design on the other.

15 Jenny 12.03.09 at 9:02 am

Very frugal to add both Christmas and Valentine design on one dish towel!
Love the tag!!

16 gramma grammie 12.03.09 at 9:37 am

What an excellent idea- you created a towel that can be used for more than one holiday! I love getting such sweet little towels, but feel so bad only using them once a year…perfect! :D

20 Dina 12.03.09 at 11:48 am

She used one design on each side for two different holidays…great idea!

21 Margaret 12.03.09 at 12:54 pm

I have not downloaded my tags as of yet — I need to get on that!!

22 Margaret 12.03.09 at 1:05 pm

She put two different holidays on one towel – genius! Such a cute way to be frugal!

23 Pam 12.03.09 at 2:54 pm

Yes – I made the aprons/hats for my girls so one of them will be perfect for that! Thanks!

26 Connie T 12.03.09 at 9:19 pm

Answer is that Kris used her Tea Towel for two different occasions with two different appliques..one side Christmas and the other Valentines day!!..Great idea!

27 Rachel 12.04.09 at 9:12 am

I love the idea of using one towel for two holidays, not only do you save money on towels but you save space in your towel drawer as well.

30 Sheila C 12.05.09 at 10:59 am

She used two designs on one towel so that it could be used more often.

32 Jaime B. 12.06.09 at 10:06 am

Why haven’t I though of this before? Two designs on one towel that is a great idea.

33 Ng Lay Yen 12.06.09 at 6:30 pm

Yes, I have just downloaded these fun loving gift tags for the holidays. Thanks for sharing the wonderful idea. Keep it up !

34 Sarah in MO 12.07.09 at 12:54 pm

Kris was frugal by making the tea towel with BOTH a Christmas design and a Valentine design (one on each side).

35 Melissa 12.08.09 at 11:10 am

That is so cute! It is frugal, but it’s really practical. It gets to be a pain storing decorations for each holiday so this a space saver. Plus I love hearts and Valentine things so I’d probably have the XO towel showing a lot of the year. Very cute idea and I love the tag!

36 Deborah K 12.08.09 at 4:49 pm

no, i need to do that now

37 Star 12.10.09 at 2:38 pm

Awesome! Great idea, now I realized that we can also do a thing if we exert more effort to it and by putting it to heart. =) The result would be as cute as this or even more. But anyway, I just want to invite you all to this site – Happy Tiffin Let’s support green stuffs especially this holiday. By doing this we can save our world and reduce the use of plastic waste. There are different unique gift ideas at happy tiffin. Maybe you might want to try. Thank you!

41 Kelly O. 12.15.09 at 6:53 am

she was being frugal by doing a different seasonal print on either side of the tea towel…cute!
