Packaging & Design: My Latest Intrigue

by Kris on April 7, 2009

For some odd reason, I have been so intrigued lately by the way things are packaged. Isn’t that interesting?

Perhaps this might have something to do with it. I’m walking up and down the aisles at Walmart looking at all the Easter candy. Chocolate on the brain I suppose. For the kids of course. ;)

And what catches my attention? This…

It’s cute. It’s chocolate. It’s orange. It’s ORANGE?

An orange chocolate bunny. The color captivated me. It had me at hello, if you will. ;)

So I bought it. Of course an orange bunny wrapped up in an orange striped box covered in clear cellophane would only look adorable besides my other pink bunny and yellow ducky marshmallows that enticed me to also go in the cart.

Boy, those Russell Stover ┬ápeople sure know what they’re doing.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering…they’re also available in lime green, pink, yellow, blue…you name it. Brilliant.

Oh the Marketing these days. They are cool colors . But does orange taste as good as our chocolate Peter Rabbits. When I was little the only color in my basket came from the dyed eggs and jelly beans. Now you can have a bunny in your favorite color.
Happy Easter!

Walmart got my attention too with all those colors. My oldest son (20) is really into the lime green and bright oranges. Of course his basket is going green and orange this year :)

Not only was this great but did you notice that the plastic Easter eggs now come as Noahs Arc, Flower Power, Sport’s Theme etc. I wish I had little ones but I sent a bunch to my Grandkids.

I love the new colors, but the taste is lacking. But for my daughter who is mad about yellow, the yellow bunny made her day. I was thrilled to find it, and she is thrilled to eat it!
